Open and compare earlier website versions

Use version history when you want to understand what changed or return to an earlier direction.

DriftLess keeps saved website versions attached to the project under Tools → Versions. Previewing an older version, selecting it as the current private website, and publishing it are three separate actions.

How to use this

  1. 1Open Tools → Versions in Studio and use Preview to inspect a saved version.
  2. 2Give useful versions a short name, such as Autumn collection, so you can recognize them later.
  3. 3Choose Use this private version and confirm if you want to continue from it.
  4. 4Save or discard pending editor changes, and finish active work, before switching versions. Publish separately when the selected version should be public.

Keep in mind

  • Opening an earlier version does not publish it.
  • A published website changes only after you deliberately publish an approved version.
